On July 21, 2025, the School of Continuing Education (Baigong Campus) of Beijing University of Science and Technology was officially established with a signing ceremony held in Lulong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. This significant achievement in university–enterprise collaboration marks a new phase in the deepened partnership between Beijing University of Science and Technology and Qinhuangdao Baigong Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. in the areas of industry–education integration and talent development, injecting fresh momentum into regional industrial upgrading and the cultivation of high‑quality technical and skilled personnel.
Deepening industry–education integration to build a new hub for talent development.
The Baigong Campus is jointly established by the School of Continuing Education of University of Science and Technology Beijing and Baigong Steel. Leveraging the strengths of both partners, it focuses on technological innovation and talent needs in the steel industry, striving to cultivate versatile professionals who combine solid theoretical grounding with practical expertise. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching facilities and hands-on training centers. In the future, it will offer specialized programs in metallurgical engineering, intelligent manufacturing, green and low-carbon technologies, and more, providing a platform for corporate employees to enhance their academic qualifications and acquire new skills, while also supplying the industry with urgently needed technical talent.
At the ceremony, Beijing University of Science and Technology and BaiGong Steel signed both a Co‑construction Agreement for the BaiGong Campus and a Donation Agreement, fostering seamless integration between the education and industrial sectors. The establishment of the BaiGong Campus represents an important initiative through which universities support national strategies and empower local economies. Moving forward, it will leverage BaiGong Steel’s industry-specific contexts to develop an integrated talent‑development model that links teaching, research and development, and practical application.

As a key steel enterprise in Hebei Province, Baigong Steel has long placed great emphasis on technological innovation and talent development. In this collaboration, the company will not only provide teaching facilities and hands-on training resources but will also actively participate in designing talent‑training programs, thereby achieving the goal of “classroom equals workshop, graduation equals employment.”

The campus plans to collaborate with the research team from Beijing University of Science and Technology to tackle key technological challenges, advancing research on energy conservation, consumption reduction, and digital transformation in the steel industry, thereby fostering a virtuous cycle of “education empowering industry and industry feeding back into education.”
