Around 9:20 a.m. on November 26, 2018, security guards Chen Tiejun and Li Xu, who were on duty at Gate No. 2, noticed two workers from an outsourced team running while picking up items. Sensing something amiss, they immediately rushed over to investigate. At the scene, they found numerous 100-yuan banknotes scattered on the ground, with two outsourced workers collecting them and stuffing them into their pockets. Chen Tiejun and Li Xu promptly intervened to stop them. One of the workers handed Chen Tiejun and Li Xu 400 yuan, pleading not to report the incident. The two guards refused and confiscated the money from the workers’ hands and pockets, then gathered up the remaining cash from the ground. They took the funds to the Gate No. 2 guardhouse and turned them over to team leader Li Kun. A headcount revealed a total of 4,600 yuan in cash. Li Kun reported the incident and the cash to his superiors through the appropriate channels, after which he reviewed the surveillance footage from Gate No. 2. The footage identified Li Jun, an employee of the Jinxin Refractory Outsourcing Team, as the suspected person who had dropped the money. Team leader Wu Qiong contacted Li Jun’s supervisor and verified with Li Jun himself that the cash had indeed been lost due to inadequate management. Li Jun was visibly anxious about the situation. The cash was subsequently returned to its rightful owner, who expressed profound gratitude. Following the incident, the owner presented the Security Department with a banner and a letter of commendation.
