Rare-earth corrosion-resistant plain carbon steel series—Q195LRE cold-drawn wire (φ4mm)
Leveraging China’s abundant lanthanum–cerium rare‑earth resources, the company has jointly developed with Shanghai University Q195LRE wire rod (φ6.5 mm) and wire (φ4 mm), which achieve atmospheric corrosion‑resistance comparable to that of conventional weathering steels, eliminating the need for painting or galvanizing and employing rust‑to‑rust protection. This breakthrough is poised to bring about a revolutionary transformation in the field of anti‑corrosion steels.
The company has signed a comprehensive “industry–university–research–application” cooperation agreement with Shanghai University, establishing the “Shanghai University School of Materials Science and Engineering Industry–University–Research Base,” the Shanghai University Pilot-Scale Base for New Steel Materials, and an “Enterprise Postdoctoral Workstation.” Shanghai University will give priority to recommending and transferring its advanced, practical new processes, technologies, and materials in the field of steel metallurgy to Baigong Steel, thereby continuously driving the company’s process and product upgrades.
